Dawson Lake

Dawson Lake is a 160-acre impoundment located within Moraine View State Park in Ellsworth, McLean County. The lake offers a well-maintained **two-lane boat ramp and docking facility**, making it convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. With a maximum depth of 25.6 feet, the lake provides good depth for various water activities. The park is open year-round with easy vehicular access to the launch area.

**Motor Regulations & Conditions:** Note that boat motors over 10 horsepower are restricted to idle/no-wake speeds, while motors 10 horsepower or less have no speed limit. This makes the lake suitable for both paddlers seeking quieter conditions and those with smaller motorized vessels. Boat rentals are available at the concession stand, and the lake's fertile waters support recreational fishing in addition to paddling and boating activities.
