About This Access Site
Debsconeag Deadwater is a 537-acre public boat launch located in T2 R10 WELS in remote Piscataquis County, Maine. This access point serves Debsconeag Deadwater and provides connections to the West Branch Penobscot River system. The site is situated in the scenic Appalachian Mountains region, making it ideal for paddlers and anglers seeking a wilderness experience.

To reach the ramp, follow Hurd Pond Road (as if heading to the Ice Caves Trailhead), then bear right at the fork and continue approximately one mile to the end of the road where the put-in is located. The surrounding area offers access to other nearby water bodies including First Debsconeag Lake (1.6 miles west) and Passamagamet Lake (1.5 miles southeast), making this a good base for exploring the local water system.
