Deer Lake

**Location & Directions:** Deer Lake Access is situated on the west shore of Deer Lake in Swiss Township, Marquette County. From Ishpeming, take County Road 573 (Deer Lake Road) north from US-41 for approximately 4.3 miles to reach the launch on the right side of the road. The site is about seven miles east of the Highway 35 and 77 intersection.

**Facilities & Use:** This public access point features a boat ramp with dock access, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. A small parking area and picnic table are available at the site. The launch provides convenient access to Deer Lake and the Carp River system, a scenic waterway in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with opportunities for paddling and fishing.

**Conditions:** Paddlers should be aware that the Carp River has natural drops and varying conditions on its upper reaches, so review current water levels and conditions before launching, particularly if exploring beyond the lake.
