Deer Lake Access, located at 4051 W Deer Lake Road near Wabeno in Forest County, provides a public boat ramp with dock access to this 150-acre lake. The site features a concrete ramp, picnic table, and parking area. To reach the access point, head east from the Highway 35/77 intersection for seven miles, then turn north on West Deer Lake Road and continue approximately one mile. This location serves as a convenient entry point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters.
Deer Lake is a moderately-sized water body with a maximum depth of 62 feet and notably clear water—ideal for both paddling and fishing. The lake supports a variety of fish species including walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, musky, and panfish, making it popular with anglers. Paddlers should note that fishing activity can be heavy, particularly in early morning hours.
