About This Access Site
Deering Reservoir is a 323-acre public water body located in Deering, between Hillsboro and South Weare in Hillsborough County, NH. The lake features a scenic, wooded shoreline with a gravel and rock bottom. A public boat launch provides access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. As of 2022, parking fees have been eliminated, though designated parking for boat trailers and handicapped spaces are available. Paddlers should note any informational signs regarding parking restrictions when visiting.

The reservoir's calm waters and undeveloped shoreline make it an attractive destination for recreational paddling and fishing. The no-motor policy on certain sections keeps the water peaceful for non-motorized craft, making it particularly suitable for kayaking and canoeing. The site is conveniently located about 1 mile off Route 149, making it easily accessible for day trips. Those planning a visit should check current conditions and any seasonal restrictions before launching.
