About This Access Site
The Delton boat ramp provides public access to Lake Delton, a 249-acre lake in Sauk County with a maximum depth of 16 feet. This is a convenient launch point for exploring the Dell Creek watershed system, which connects Mirror Lake, Lake Delton, and ultimately the Wisconsin River. The ramp offers access to a scenic paddling area where anglers can pursue panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and catfish.

Paddlers should note that Lake Delton itself has low water clarity, but it serves as an important connection point for downstream exploration. From here, you can paddle to Mirror Lake (upstream) or venture downstream through Dell Creek toward the Wisconsin River. Most paddlers use this area for round-trip paddles due to minimal current, making it accessible for all skill levels. The nearby Mirror Lake area features a larger, more popular state park boat ramp and offers scenic canyon paddling through the Lower Narrows—an excellent option if you want a more developed facility or prefer established paddling routes.
