The Des Allemands Boat Launch provides convenient access to Bayou des Allemands, a popular freshwater paddling and fishing destination in St. Charles Parish. Located at the southeast section of the lake near the east end of the US Highway 90 Bridge, this two-lane concrete ramp features paved parking and is accessed via WPA Road (LA Highway 632) near Allemands Elementary and Des Allemands Playground.
Bayou des Allemands and its tributaries are known for excellent freshwater fishing opportunities, with species including crappie and bass throughout the year. The calm waters make it suitable for kayaks and canoes, and paddlers will encounter the characteristic Louisiana bayou landscape of cypress trees draped in Spanish moss. The area also offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, including alligators and native water plants. Nearby recreation areas like the Bonnet Carré Spillway provide additional exploration options for those looking to extend their trip.
