About This Access Site
Devils Fork 1 is the primary public boat access point to the 7,565-acre Lake Jocassee, a scenic mountain spring-fed lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Oconee County. Located within Devils Fork State Park in the Sumter National Forest, this ramp is one of four launch points serving the lake. The site offers parking near the boat ramp and day-use picnic area; note that trailer parking lots are reserved for vehicles with trailers Friday through Monday (May–December) and holidays, while single vehicles should use designated day-use parking. The northernmost boat ramp at this location serves as the designated access point for paddlers planning to boat-camp at Double Springs campground.

**Important considerations for paddlers:** Lake levels fluctuate frequently, so it's recommended to trailer your boat if leaving it unattended, as boats cannot remain docked longer than one hour. The ramp itself can be challenging, so plan accordingly. The lake remains largely undeveloped and offers excellent paddling opportunities for kayakers and canoeists. Free camping is available year-round at the nearby Burrells Ford Campground (0.25 miles walk from the lot), which offers pit toilets and picnic tables but operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
