About This Access Site
Devils Fork 2 is one of four public boat ramps providing access to the 7,565-acre Lake Jocassee, a pristine mountain spring-fed lake in Oconee County that remains mostly undeveloped. This ramp serves as the designated parking area for boaters heading to the boat-in campground at Double Springs, making it a key access point for overnight paddling trips. The ramp itself is noted as somewhat challenging, so paddlers should be prepared for variable conditions.

**Key Information for Paddlers:** Lake Jocassee allows all boat types, including kayaks and canoes. However, water levels fluctuate frequently, so trailerable boats are recommended if you plan to leave your vessel unattended. Boats cannot be left docked for more than one hour. Parking near the main boat ramp is reserved for trailer vehicles Friday through Monday from May–December and holidays; single vehicles should use designated day-use parking in the picnic area. No fees are charged for day-use access.

For extended trips, the nearby Burrells Ford campground (0.25 miles away on the Chattooga River) offers free, year-round camping with basic facilities. Cherry Hill Campground is also available within 10 miles if you prefer reservable accommodations.
