Located one-half mile east of US Route 209 off PA Route 739 in Pike County, this National Park Service facility on the Delaware River offers a well-developed launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site features a wide gravel boat ramp, paved parking for approximately 130 vehicles, restrooms, and trash disposal. The access point sits on the right bank just past the Dingmans Ferry Bridge (a privately owned toll bridge). Note that this is a major river corridor, so expect moderate to heavy use during peak seasons.
The Delaware River at this location is a substantial waterway—a major river with an average flow of over 30,000 cubic feet per second and an average velocity of 3.1 feet per second. Paddlers should be prepared for significant current and understand that conditions can change rapidly depending on upstream dam releases. The river's 2.7 ft/mile average gradient provides moderate current typical of this section of the Delaware. This access point serves as a good jumping-off spot for exploring the scenic Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and surrounding paddling routes.
Valley View Group Campground is located within 10 miles and offers reservable sites for those planning an overnight trip in the area.
