Located in Markesan, the Dodges Avenue boat ramp provides public access to Lake Puckaway, a 5,000-acre shallow lake in central Wisconsin. The ramp is approximately 16 feet wide and suitable for small to medium-sized boats. Parking is available in a nearby lot with street parking options. This is a no-frills access point with no amenities on-site, so plan accordingly.
**Important:** A seasonal permit is required to use this ramp (April through October). Wisconsin residents pay $20, non-residents pay $40, and seniors pay $5 per season. Permits can be purchased at the Markesan Police Department. The nearby Fox River National Wildlife Refuge offers excellent opportunities for paddling through diverse wetland and upland habitat, making this a good jumping-off point for exploring the area's natural features.
