Doe Run

Doe Run Lake offers a convenient boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters in the Erlanger area. Located off Bullock Pen Road (KY 17), this approximately 30-acre lake provides a calm, protected paddling environment ideal for beginners and families. The ramp is well-maintained and easily accessible, making it simple to launch and retrieve boats. The lake is home to wildlife including blue herons, turtles, and ducks, making it a scenic spot for a casual paddle.

The surrounding area includes over 180 acres of parkland with amenities such as picnic areas, hiking trails (including the Bluebird Trail and Doe Run Nature Trail), and ample parking. The lake's moderate size is particularly suitable for younger paddlers and those seeking a relaxing outing without rough water conditions. Plan for limited shade on the water during hot weather. To reach the access site from I-75 north of Williamstown, take Exit 166, head west on Highway 2363, and turn left on Violet Road.
