About This Access Site
Donnell Pond Boat Ramp provides convenient public access to Donnell Pond in Franklin, located in Hancock County near Acadia National Park. To reach the launch, take Donnell Pond Road off Route 182 (1.5 miles north of the Route 200 intersection); the road transitions from paved to unpaved, and at the fork, bear left to access the boat landing and parking area. The facility is situated within Donnell Pond Public Lands, a scenic recreational area ideal for kayaking and canoeing.

The access site includes a dedicated boat launch, parking lot, and additional amenities including campsites, group campsites, restroom facilities, and an overlook. Multi-use trails are available for hiking and other non-motorized recreation. Note that campsites require a free fire permit from the Maine Forest Service (available at www.maine.gov/dacf/mfs). This makes Donnell Pond an excellent choice for paddlers looking for a full-day or overnight recreation experience in a natural setting with good facilities support.
