The Donner Lake boat ramp provides access to the scenic Donner Lake in Truckee, California. This unstaffed public launch site is open seasonally, typically from May through September. Boaters, kayakers, and canoeists can use the ramp to access the 3-mile long, 1-mile wide Donner Lake.
The ramp is located on the northwest corner of the lake, near the Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District office. While the ramp itself is unstaffed during the off-season, launch passes can be purchased at the district office or on-site during the operating season. Decontamination services are also available at the nearby Alpine inspection station from May to October.
Nearby recreation areas include the Boca Reservoir and Martis Creek Lake, both within a short drive. Campers can find accommodations at the Alpine Meadow and Sagehen Creek Campgrounds, located within 10 miles of the Donner Lake boat ramp. Whether you're looking to explore the lake by motorboat, kayak, or canoe, the Donner Lake access site provides a convenient launching point for enjoying this beautiful Sierra Nevada waterway.
