The Double Branches Ramp provides public access to Cherokee Creek, which flows into the larger Clarks Hill Lake. This boat ramp is located within Hamilton Branch State Park, part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' J. Strom Thurmond Lake recreation area.
The Double Branches Ramp is well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and smaller motorized boats. The concrete ramp leads directly into the calm waters of Cherokee Creek, which is narrow and meandering, making it an ideal location for paddling. Further downstream, the creek opens up into the vast 70,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake, providing ample opportunities for exploration by both paddlers and motor boaters.
While the ramp is open for public use, there are no fees or reservations required. Nearby amenities include the Broad River Campground, which offers campsites with water and electric hookups. Paddlers and boaters should familiarize themselves with the lake's regulations and safety guidelines before venturing out on the water.
