About This Access Site
**Location & Access**
Douthitt Park offers a single-lane concrete boat ramp in Jackson, Breathitt County, providing access to the North Fork Kentucky River. The park is equipped with security lighting and restroom facilities, making it a convenient launching point for day trips and longer paddles. This ramp is part of a series of access points along the North Fork, with alternative put-ins available upstream near the Quicksand Fire Department (under the bridge off KY-15) and near Mount Carmel School.

**Paddling Information**
The North Fork Kentucky River offers opportunities for kayakers and canoeists looking to paddle between multiple access points. Many paddlers use the upstream Quicksand Fire Department access to float downstream to Douthitt Park, making for an enjoyable day trip. Facility availability may be seasonal, so plan accordingly. As with all Kentucky River access points, check current water conditions before paddling, as flow and safety can vary significantly with weather and upstream conditions.
