About This Access Site
The Dow Creek Drive boat ramp provides access to Cushman Lake, a 41,500-foot freshwater lake located in Mason County near Hoodsport. To reach this access point from U.S. Highway 101, turn onto Washington 119 and travel about 4 miles, then turn left on North Standstill Drive South. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles and turn left onto Potlatch-Cushman Road, then right onto Lower Lake Road—the boat launch is located at the bottom of the hill. Parking is available at the launch and across the street.

This site is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters looking to explore Cushman Lake's calm freshwater environment. The lake offers scenic surroundings with access to the broader recreational area, which includes over 60 campsites and multiple boat ramps managed by Skokomish Park. The access point serves as a convenient launching spot for a full day of paddling or boating on this popular Mason County water body.

Six sites at  Brown Creek Campground along forest Road 2430 are open year-round. There is also an accessible vault toilet also open year-round nearby at Brown Creek Trailhead. The family friendly Brown Creek Nature Loop Trail #877 can be accessed from within the campground.
