About This Access Site
Bull's Island offers a well-maintained paved boat ramp providing access to Delaware River Mile 155, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring this major waterway. The site features year-round restroom facilities, a park office, picnic areas, and multi-use trails along the river. A pedestrian bridge connects to Pennsylvania's Delaware Canal State Park, offering additional paddling opportunities. Note that daily or annual permits are required for all watercraft launches; permits can be purchased at the Bull's Island Main Office (2185 Daniel Bray Highway, Stockton, NJ 08859, or by calling 609-397-2949).

The Delaware River at this location is a major waterway with substantial flow (averaging over 30,000 cubic feet per second) and moderate current (approximately 3 feet per second). Paddlers should expect a strong, navigable river suitable for experienced kayakers and canoeists. The river's 2.7 ft/mile average gradient means relatively steady conditions through this section, and as the largest free-flowing river in the eastern United States, it offers scenic views of forests, farmlands, and historic villages. This access point is ideal for day trips or longer paddling adventures along the Lower Delaware National Wild and Scenic River corridor.
