About This Access Site
The Dry Brooks Boat Launch provides convenient access to Blue Marsh Lake, a 1,147-acre reservoir located 7 miles northwest of Reading, Pennsylvania. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with two maintained ramps at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area. The lake spans over 5,000 acres of surrounding land with extensive recreational infrastructure, making it a popular destination for paddlers of all skill levels.

The day use area offers ample amenities including picnic facilities, a small beach area, and access to over 36 miles of trails. A $3 per-vehicle day-use fee is charged from May 1 to September 30 ($1 per person walk-in). The facility is located just one mile east of Route 183 on Palisades Drive. Note that while the day use area is open year-round, conditions and facility availability may vary seasonally, so calling ahead at 610-376-6337 is recommended. This is an ideal launching point for exploring Blue Marsh Lake's calm waters.

Blue Marsh Lake is an unlimited horsepower lake for boating and waterskiing. Paddle craft are also very popular. There is a 30 mile multi-use hiking trail that permits hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Other activities include swimming, picnicking, bird watching, and hunting.Facilities
Blue Marsh Lake is a day use facility only and includes three boat launches and a Visitor Center. The group shelters includes picnic tables, grills, trash receptacles and restrooms nearby. Lakeview and Hillside shelters include water and electricity, but Vista shelter does not.Natural Features
The group shelters are set within the day use picnic area surrounded by mowed grass and parking lots. The shelters are also within walking distance of the swimming beach.
