Eagle Nest State Park offers convenient boat access to Eagle Nest Lake, a scenic alpine reservoir located at 8,200 feet elevation in the Moreno Valley near the town of Eagle Nest. The park features multiple boat ramp access points and is easily reached via U.S. 64 and Marina Way. The calm waters make this an ideal location for recreational boating, fishing, and paddling, with stunning views of Wheeler Peak and the surrounding high mountains of the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway.
The park provides excellent amenities for a full day outing or longer stay, including a visitor center, camping (with pull-through and back-in RV sites), restrooms, and drinking water. Note that Eagle Nest Lake is currently undergoing renovations to upgrade electrical infrastructure, though this work will not affect boating activities. For camping reservations and additional information, visit the New Mexico State Parks reservation website. The relatively calm waters and established facilities make this a good choice for paddlers of all experience levels seeking a mountain lake experience.
