About This Access Site
The Eagle Point Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the John H. Kerr Reservoir, a sprawling 50,000-acre lake along the Roanoke River. This federal recreation area, known as Kimball Point Park, offers a boat ramp and courtesy dock for launching kayaks, canoes, and small powerboats.

The reservoir is a popular destination for paddlers and recreational boaters, offering 39 miles of navigable waters surrounded by scenic wooded shorelines. Conditions are generally calm and suitable for a wide range of watercraft. Paddlers can explore the many coves and inlets along the reservoir's extensive shoreline. Boaters will find ample opportunities for fishing, skiing, and cruising.

While overnight camping is not available at this specific access site, the larger John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir complex offers campgrounds and other recreation facilities nearby. Visitors should note that this is a federal facility, so hours, fees, and rules may differ from typical local boat ramps. Paddlers and boaters are encouraged to check the latest information before visiting.
