Elks Lodge

The Elks Lodge ramp provides convenient access to Lake Texoma and the Red River near Pottsboro, Texas. This facility accommodates boats up to 20 feet and includes a boarding pier, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The ramp serves as a gateway to the expansive Lake Texoma, the largest lake by capacity in the Tulsa District, as well as downstream paddling on the Red River.

The Red River in this region is a major waterway (Stream Order 9) with an average flow of approximately 68,000 cubic feet per second and modest gradient of 1.6 feet per mile, making it generally manageable for paddlers of varying experience levels. Nearby attractions include Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, an excellent destination for wildlife viewing and bird watching, and Big Mineral Camp for camping needs. Paddlers should be aware of the river's significant flow rate and check current conditions before launching, particularly if planning extended trips downstream.
