Located in Graford on Possum Kingdom Lake along the Brazos River, Ellis Sod Road offers a convenient public boat launch for paddlers and boaters. The facility includes a boat ramp (accessible at higher lake levels), handicap-accessible restroom, courtesy dock, and free parking for vehicles and trailers. A rough concrete parking pad accommodates a couple of vehicles, and an older secondary ramp provides river bank access. The launch is situated approximately one mile upstream from the lake's spillway.
**Important note for paddlers:** Water level significantly affects accessibility—the main boat ramp becomes unusable at low lake levels. Check current lake conditions before visiting. The #5 area nearby features Bug Beach with sandy shoreline, covered picnic tables, and up to 100 unmarked campsites, making this a good option for day trips or overnight paddling adventures. All boat types are accommodated when water levels are adequate.
