About This Access Site
The Ellsworth Community boat ramp offers convenient access to Ellsworth Lake, part of the Chain O' Lakes system in Antrim County. Located on the west shore in the Village of Ellsworth, this developed access site features a public boat ramp and dock with a gentle slope, making it ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The site includes ample trailer parking, a large open parking area, and restrooms. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required to use this DNR access site.
The surrounding 4-acre community park provides excellent amenities for paddlers, including a picnic area with tables and grills, a swimming beach, and walking paths with observation decks. The park is easily recognizable from the water by its large pavilion and open grounds, appearing shortly after you pass under the Bridge Road bridge as the water enters Ellsworth Lake. The gentle topography and proximity to lodging and food in the village of Ellsworth make this a welcoming put-in for exploring the Chain O' Lakes system.
