Elwood Wildlife Management Area

The Elwood Wildlife Management Area boat ramp provides access to Elwood Reservoir, a 1,200-acre lake located 3 miles north of Elwood in Gosper County. This state-managed facility offers a scenic setting for paddlers and boaters seeking a quieter recreational experience. Basic public facilities including a parking lot and boat ramp are available; however, no camping is provided on-site, though private camping options are available nearby.

**Important for paddlers:** Non-motorized boating (kayaks and canoes) is permitted on the lake south of the designated buoys, but only during the season from May 15 to September 30. The area is open year-round for fishing and hunting, so be aware of hunting seasons when planning your visit.
