About This Access Site
E.V. Spence Reservoir, located on the Colorado River approximately 2 miles west of Robert Lee in Coke County, offers a well-developed public access point for boaters and paddlers. This 14,640-acre reservoir with a maximum depth of 108 feet provides ample water for kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating. The facility features **three paved boat ramps** available depending on current water levels, giving paddlers reliable launch options throughout the year.

**Access & Fees:** Day-use access requires a $5 per vehicle entrance fee (covering all passengers), with annual vehicle passes available for $60 ($10 for seniors). The facility is a Texas Parks and Wildlife managed area. Note that the Rough Creek area is currently closed to public access.

**What to Expect:** This large reservoir is ideal for recreational paddling and fishing rather than river paddling. Given the size and depth of the impoundment, expect calmer conditions than you would find on the free-flowing Colorado River. Facilities are developed and maintained, making this a good choice for day trips with your kayak or canoe.
