About This Access Site
E.V. Spence Reservoir is a large impoundment on the Colorado River located approximately 2 miles west of Robert Lee in Coke County, Texas. With a surface area of 14,640 acres and maximum depth of 108 feet, this is a substantial reservoir offering plenty of room for kayaking, canoeing, and boating. The facility features **three paved boat ramps** positioned at different locations to accommodate varying water levels, giving paddlers reliable launch options throughout the year.

**Access and Fees:** Day use requires a $5 vehicle pass that covers all occupants, with annual vehicle passes available for $60 ($10 for seniors). The reservoir provides a well-developed recreation area suitable for both casual paddling and extended boating. Note that the Rough Creek area is currently closed to public access. Given the reservoir's size and depth, paddlers should be prepared for open-water conditions and check current water levels before visiting, as water level fluctuations may affect which of the three ramps are most accessible.
