The Fair Haven Municipal Ramp provides boat access to the Navesink River via an asphalt-paved launch area located at the end of Battin Road (748 River Road, Fair Haven, NJ 07704). The ramp is a straightforward extension of the existing road and offers a spacious launch area suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. **Important note:** A permit is required to use the ramp with a trailer to launch or retrieve any motorized, state-registered boat. For permit information and other details, contact Fair Haven Municipal Services at 732-747-0241 ext. 219 or 221.
Paddlers should be aware that the ramp may have limited water depth at low tide due to shoaling in the area. Plan your launch accordingly and check tide schedules before heading out. The Navesink River is a scenic waterway popular with recreational boaters, offering good paddling opportunities for both kayaking and canoeing.
If you're planning an extended trip, Camp Gateway at Sandy Hook is a reservable campground located within 10 miles of the access point, providing overnight accommodation options for paddlers exploring the area.
