Located at the downstream end of the 84,000-acre Falcon International Reservoir on the Rio Grande in Zapata County, this state park provides a developed boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The access point includes a fish cleaning station and offers convenient entry to one of the region's largest recreational water bodies. Campsites with varying amenities—from tent spots to full hookups for electricity, water, and sewage—are available on-site.
Falcon Reservoir is known for largemouth bass and channel catfish fishing. Several public boat ramps are scattered around the lake, with a free county ramp available at mid-lake if you're looking for alternative access points. The park charges entrance and camping fees. Note that you do not need a fishing license to fish from shore within the state park. This is a suitable destination for paddlers seeking a large, calm reservoir environment rather than moving river currents.
