About This Access Site
Located on the south side of Fall River Lake near the dam in Engineers Cove, this boat ramp provides access to the 10,900-acre Fall River Lake in Greenwood County, Kansas. The site is situated within the Fall River Dam recreation area, which offers a full range of water-based activities including boating, water skiing, jet skiing, and swimming. To reach the ramp from US Highway 400, turn north at mile marker 344 (Z 50 Rd) and continue east to the park entrance.

Fall River Lake sits on the Fall River, a large river system (Stream Order 6) with an average flow of 612 cubic feet per second and a moderate gradient of 3.4 feet per mile. These conditions make the lake suitable for motorized boating and water sports rather than extended paddling on swift current. The reservoir is set in rolling prairie country with excellent fishing opportunities for white bass and bluegill, plus access to the 10,900-acre Fall River Game Management Area for wildlife viewing. Nearby Toronto Lake, featuring Kansas' only granite outcrop, offers an alternative recreation destination in the area.
