About This Access Site
Fausse Pointe State Park offers excellent access to Lake Fausse Pointe, a scenic water body located in the heart of the Atchafalaya Basin swamp. The park features a dedicated boat ramp and canoe launch, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters of all experience levels. Both launching your own vessel and renting equipment are available options—canoes and kayaks can be rented at the Entrance Station.

The park is well-equipped for a full day on the water, with boat docks, a fishing pier, and a man-made beach providing additional amenities. Beyond paddling, the site offers three hiking trails, a designated canoe trail, and 18 waterfront cabins for overnight stays. The surrounding Atchafalaya Basin environment provides excellent opportunities to observe native wildlife and plant life in their natural habitat, making this an ideal base for exploring South Louisiana's natural heritage.
