Fiddlers Lake offers a scenic boat ramp and dock facility specifically designed for non-motorized watercraft in the southern Wind River Mountains near Lander, Wyoming. Located at 9,400 feet elevation, this mountain lake is ideal for kayaking and canoeing, with a well-maintained launch area adjacent to Fiddlers Lake Campground. The surrounding area features multiple lakes accessible by paddle, making it an excellent base for exploring the high country.
The associated campground provides 20 campsites on the lake shore with drinking water and restrooms, making it convenient for paddlers planning overnight trips. An $8 per night fee applies with a 16-day stay limit. Important note: all boats used in Wyoming waters must display a current mussel tag. Nearby trails lead into the Popo Agie Wilderness and connect to Christina Lake and other regional lakes, offering extended paddling and hiking opportunities. The area also provides access to historic sites at Atlantic City and South Pass, plus scenic recreation options in nearby Sinks Canyon.
