About This Access Site
Fisherman's Landing is a concrete boat ramp on the east bank of the Pearl River Navigational Canal in St. Tammany Parish. The facility features a two-lane concrete ramp with wooden docks and improved parking, making it a reliable access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. From the landing, paddlers can head half a mile up the barge canal to reach Lock 1, located off Highway 41, which provides passage along the Pearl River system.

This access point serves as a gateway to several popular paddling and recreation areas, including the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, which straddles the Louisiana-Mississippi border along the Pearl River, and the Pearl River 3 Pools area—a series of locks and dams primarily used for day-use boating, hunting, and fishing. The improvements to the ramp infrastructure have enhanced safety and access for all boaters using the waterway. This is a solid choice for launching day trips into the Pearl River navigational system and nearby wildlife refuge waters.
