Fishermans Road

Fishermans Road provides public access to Lake Onalaska and the Mississippi River in Onalaska, Wisconsin. The ramp features a wide concrete surface designed for easy launching and retrieval of boats, canoes, and kayaks. This is a straightforward, well-maintained access point for paddlers looking to explore the scenic Upper Mississippi River Valley.

Lake Onalaska sits within Mississippi River Pool 7, a relatively calm water area ideal for recreational paddling. The Lake Onalaska Protection and Rehabilitation District maintains buoy-marked "travel corridors" cleared of aquatic vegetation to help boaters navigate from the landing to the main lake body and connect to the upper Mississippi River channel. Be aware that stump fields exist in some areas—exercise caution when navigating. The site provides good access for both day trips on the lake and longer river expeditions through the scenic valley between Trempealeau and Dresbach.
