About This Access Site
Flat Rock Creek is a boat ramp and campground facility located on Fort Gibson Lake's east shore in northeastern Oklahoma, near the confluence of Flat Rock Creek and the main Neosho River channel. The site provides reliable year-round access to Fort Gibson Lake, a nearly 20,000-acre reservoir ideal for boating, fishing, and water sports. The launch is situated in a remote, family-friendly setting known for scenic sunsets over the water.

The Neosho River (Grand River) is a major waterway with significant flow—averaging over 10,500 cubic feet per second—making it suitable for motorboats and larger vessels. The river's relatively gentle gradient of 2.1 feet per mile and moderate velocity of about 7 feet per second provide manageable paddling conditions for kayakers and canoeists, though paddlers should account for the river's substantial size and current. For paddlers specifically, the lake setting at this access point offers calmer water compared to the main river channel downstream.

The campground offers 30 family sites with electric hookups, flush and pit toilets, drinking water, showers, a dump station, and a boat ramp. The facility is reservable through Recreation.gov (918-476-6766 or 918-682-4314). GPS address: 31291 E. 670 Rd., Chouteau, OK 74337. From Tulsa, take Highway 412 east to Highway 69 south toward Wagoner, then turn left on East 655 Road.
