**Location & Access**
Flemingtown Landing is a public boat ramp on John H. Kerr Reservoir (also known as Buggs Island Lake) in Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina. This NCWRC-managed access area provides a convenient launch point for exploring the expansive 50,000-acre reservoir, which extends 39 miles up the Roanoke River with over 800 miles of wooded shoreline.
**Facilities & Conditions**
The ramp features a two-lane concrete launch with a dock and paved parking. Water level fluctuations are common on this reservoir, and during unusually low water periods, the ramp may not extend fully into the water. Check with NCWRC before launching if water levels have been low, as some ramps may be temporarily closed under these conditions.
**Best For**
This access point works well for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to launch on the main body of Kerr Lake. The large, calm reservoir offers extensive paddling opportunities through scenic, wooded areas. Consider visiting nearby Kerr Lake State Park for additional recreational amenities and alternative access points.
