About This Access Site
FM 2650 provides access to Toledo Bend Reservoir on the Sabine River in the Shelbyville area of Shelby County. This launch point serves paddlers and boaters accessing the northern portion of the reservoir, which is a major impoundment on the Sabine River system. The facility offers a boat ramp and parking area. A day-use fee of $2.00 per vehicle applies. The recreation area is managed by the Sabine River Authority of Texas and offers access throughout the year.

The Sabine River is a major waterway with significant flow (averaging over 9,000 cubic feet per second) and moderate gradient typical of Gulf Coast river systems. Paddlers should be prepared for a large, active river system with substantial current. The reservoir provides calmer conditions than the main river channel. Check current water levels and conditions before launching, as this is an active river system managed for multiple purposes. For additional information, contact the Sabine River Authority at 409-565-2273.
