Fontenelle Reservoir offers a large, accessible boating destination with 8,000 acres of water surface near Kemmerer in Lincoln County. The primary access point at Fontenelle Creek Recreation Site features a fully functional boat ramp, boat dock, ample parking for vehicles and trailers, potable water, a trailer dump station, and handicap-accessible restrooms. There is no launch fee. Additional boat ramps are available at Dodge Bottoms, Hay Farm, Highway 28, and Six Mile Hill, all accessible via Highway 372 or Highway 28. All-weather road access makes this a reliable option for paddlers and boaters year-round.

The Green River above and below the reservoir also offers stream fishing. Three nearby campgrounds—Weeping Rock, Slate Creek, and Tail Race—provide overnight options within 10 miles. Primitive camping is available at the Fontenelle Creek Recreation Site and at three additional campsites below the dam. For more information, contact the BLM at 307-352-0256 or 307-828-4500.
