Fort Pond's DEC-maintained boat ramp offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats in Montauk. Located on the south end of the pond immediately west of the East Hampton Town athletic fields, the site is easy to find: take Main Street east, turn left on South Embassy, then right on South Erie. The facility includes a parking area, accessible bathrooms, and a small launching ramp suitable for kayaks and canoes, making it an ideal starting point for exploring Fort Pond Bay.
The 22-acre park setting provides scenic views and additional amenities including picnic tables and the Edward V. Ecker Sr. Pier for fishing access. The site is ADA accessible to the top of the boat ramp, with accessible parking and facilities available. From here, paddlers can easily explore Fort Pond while staying close to shore or venture into Fort Pond Bay for more open water paddling. The nearby Hither Woods Preserve offers supplementary hiking opportunities for those interested in exploring beyond the water.
