About This Access Site
Fort Ripley Landing provides public boat access to the Mississippi River in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. This access point serves paddlers and motorboaters on one of North America's most significant waterways—a major river with an average flow of over 685,000 cubic feet per second and a drainage area spanning nearly 1 million square miles.

The Mississippi at this location (approximately 2,334 miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico) is a substantial river with moderate current and gradient. Paddlers should be prepared for the river's size and flow characteristics, typical of a mature major river system. This is an established public access point maintained as part of Minnesota's ramp and pier program, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. Contact local DNR resources for current conditions, seasonal water levels, and any specific regulations for this access area.
