This hard surface ramp provides public access to Fourth Lake via Route 28 in the hamlet of Inlet, located approximately 10 miles east of Old Forge in Hamilton County. The launch is situated on the eastern/north shore of the lake and is suitable for both motorized boats and hand-launched paddlecraft. The ramp's hard surface makes it accessible year-round, weather permitting.
Fourth Lake supports a healthy fishery including lake trout, Atlantic salmon, landlocked salmon, brook trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, yellow perch, and white sucker, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. The launch area offers parking for vehicles, though specific parking capacity and any day-use fees should be confirmed with local management. Paddlers should note there is also a hand launch option elsewhere on the lake if preferred.
For detailed current information on parking restrictions, seasonal fees, and facility hours, contact the New York DEC at (518) 548-3076 or visit the Boat Launch Sites for Hamilton County page.
