Franklin Ramp

The Franklin boat ramp provides access to West Fork Drakes Creek in Simpson County, Kentucky. This site is operated in cooperation with the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet and is managed by the Murray Field Office. The ramp accommodates kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters looking to explore this waterway.

**Best Conditions & Timing:** Kentucky Fish and Wildlife recommends paddling this section during spring through early summer when water flows are considerably higher. Fall conditions typically feature lower water levels that may limit paddling opportunities. If launching upstream from Franklin-Simpson Parks and Recreation Park, be aware that a challenging portage around the low water bridge at Ditmore Ford Road is required, though that location does offer wading access to the creek.
