Minnesota River, Franklin State Water Access Site

The Franklin access site on State Highway 19 offers a convenient launch point for paddlers and boaters accessing the Minnesota River in Renville County. Located overlooking the scenic Minnesota River Valley, this public access supports both trailer launches and carry-in boating. The site accommodates 12–18 foot boats, making it suitable for most recreational watercraft and ideal for kayakers and canoeists exploring the Minnesota River corridor.

This access point serves as a gateway to the river segment between Lac Qui Parle Dam and Franklin, a popular route for fishing, paddling, and scenic recreation. The site includes a boat landing and camping facilities, making it a practical basecamp for multi-day paddling trips. The area also features groomed snowmobile trails in winter months.
