Fremont State Recreation Area

Fremont State Recreation Area provides boat access to the Platte River near Fremont in eastern Nebraska. Located approximately 3 miles west of Fremont, this popular recreation area features a boat ramp along with additional amenities including a fish cleaning station, picnic areas, and camping facilities. **Important Note:** The primary Hormel Park Boat Ramp was damaged during the 2019 Bomb Cyclone flooding. While the City of Fremont has been working to secure funding for repairs, there has been no confirmed timeline for restoration. Before planning your trip, contact the recreation area directly to confirm current ramp conditions and accessibility. A park permit is required for day use, and camping fees apply if staying overnight. The area is heavily used, particularly by motorboaters, so expect moderate to heavy traffic during peak seasons.
