About This Access Site
French Rocks is a well-maintained public boat launch located on Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake near Kettle Falls in Ferry County. The ramp features a paved launch surface and skid dock, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. The facility includes a vault toilet and information kiosk, with an aquatic invasive species inspection station available. Note that the minimum launch elevation is 1,265 feet; water levels can fluctuate seasonally, so check current conditions before launching.

The ramp provides access to Lake Roosevelt, a large reservoir within the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, offering numerous paddling and fishing opportunities. The surrounding area features the Colville National Forest and is close to two campgrounds—Haag Cove and Kettle Falls Campground—both of which offer reservable campsites for extended trips. Summer is the best season for recreation, as the lake supports healthy populations of fish and provides good conditions for both day trips and longer paddling adventures.
