About This Access Site
Fullerton Lake is a small lake in Vernon Parish that welcomes paddlers and non-motorized boaters. The recreation area offers a dedicated boat launch for easy access to the water, making it ideal for kayaking and canoeing. Note that only electric motors are permitted on the lake, so this is a peaceful paddling destination free from heavy motorboat traffic.

The Fullerton Lake Recreation Complex provides excellent amenities for a full day or weekend outing. Facilities include camping areas (for tents, trailers, and campers), day-use picnic areas, bank fishing access, hiking trails—including the 1.6-mile Fullerton Mill Trail—and restrooms with water. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis; arrive in person to claim a campsite, with the option to pay via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature if available. The area also has historical significance as the former site of one of the largest sawmill operations in the South.
