About This Access Site
Garfield Bay is one of Bonner County's primary boat launches on Lake Pend Oreille, located near Sagle in northern Idaho. This is a reliable access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with a public boat ramp, picnic area, and beach facilities. The site includes picnic tables and barbecue grills scattered throughout the area across from the campground entrance.

Lake Pend Oreille is a large, glacially carved reservoir stretching 65 miles through a scenic valley, offering plenty of open water for paddling and boating. Garfield Bay is one of only two Bonner County launches (along with Hope Basin) that remain accessible during low pool conditions, making it a dependable choice year-round. Paddlers should note that water levels can fluctuate seasonally, which may affect launch conditions at other nearby ramps.
