Gills Ferry provides a convenient public boat ramp for accessing Lake D'Arbonne in Lincoln Parish. Located off Parish Road 5501 (reached via LA Hwy. 33 toward Ruston, then turns onto LA 151 and Cranford Road), this ramp offers straightforward water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The facility includes parking and a concrete ramp suitable for launching vessels of various sizes.

Lake D'Arbonne is a scenic, calm-water destination ideal for paddling, featuring extensive water lily beds and quiet coves along both shorelines. Paddlers should expect to share the water with fishing activity and be aware of wildlife, including alligators. Popular paddling routes include the four-mile trail between Gills Ferry and nearby Ken's Landing, offering excellent exploration opportunities for recreational paddlers.

**Important regulations:** No fishing is permitted within 50 feet of the ramp. No overnight camping, fires, or access from sunset to sunrise are allowed at the facility. A launch fee applies.
