About This Access Site
Gin Hole Landing provides boat ramp access to the Yellow River on Eglin Air Force Base property in Okaloosa County. The take-out ramp is located on the river-left (upstream) side of the Highway 87 Bridge. This site works well for paddlers and boaters planning downstream trips or as a take-out point for multi-vehicle shuttle paddles. Note that access via base roads RR 211 and RR 220 may be subject to periodic restrictions, so check current conditions before visiting.

For upstream paddles or alternative launch options, a launch area is also available on Base Road RR 211 near Titi Creek. Be aware that the bridge clearance is quite low and requires maneuvering in tight quarters to pass underneath. The Yellow River in this area is suitable for canoeists and kayakers, though water levels and flow conditions can vary seasonally. As this is located on a military installation, visitors should confirm access is open and review any base-specific regulations before heading out.
