Located in Perry, Maine, Gleason Cove offers public boat access to the area's waterways with recently upgraded facilities. The ramp is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to sunset and operates on a day-use basis with a small parking fee. Recent improvements include an expanded parking lot, sustainable restroom facilities, and enhanced safety features that earned the site a State Organization for Boating Access "Outstanding Project Award." The facility also features a small public beach suitable for swimming and day-use activities.
Paddlers and boaters should note that overnight vehicle camping is not permitted for day-use visitors, though overnight parking is available for up to four days within a 30-day period for those with appropriate permits. The site has a debris barrier in the river to improve safety. Drone and kite flying are prohibited due to the location's proximity to flight paths. Note that maintenance work is scheduled to begin in September 2025 to further enhance boater access and safety.
